I am linking up with Mosaic Monday and Our World Tuesday
I am sharing last weekend's walk at the Loch Raven Reservoir..It was a pretty day to be out walking and this is a nice spot when they close the road for the weekend for the walkers, bikers and joggers. All kinds of peeps were out enjoying the scenery and weather..
Loch Raven is one of three reservoirs in Baltimore county, they hold the drinking water for Baltimore City...
In the winter months the ducks, gulls and coots seem to make Loch Raven their winter home.
We saw 4-5 eagles..both adult Bald Eagles and the juveniles..In the mosaic above and the photo on the left there is an adult eagle sitting in the top of one of the pine trees .
Can you find it?
I love the reflection shot of the Canada Geese and I was amazed at the numbers of American Coots.. There must have beeen hundreds of them in rows on the lake and along the shores..
One of my favorite shots from our outing.. I hope you enjoyed my walk and post..I wish you all a happy week, a happy January and a happy New Year.
I use Pic Monkey to create my mosaics, you can use Pic Monkey free or pay for an upgraded version.
I hope you can join in on our fun at Mosaic Monday and Our World Tuesday
Thanks to Judith our host of Mosaic Monday and to the hosting group of Our World Tuesday: Arija, Gattina, Lady Fi, Sylvia, Sandy and Jennifer. I wish everyone a happy week ahead!

ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful outing, Eileen, and that reflection shot is a stunner. Love all the shots, but the one of a raptor in flight (juvenile Bald Eagle, I think) is neat - such a pretty arc. Have a wonderful day. Many thanks for all the beauty you share!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful place, I love all the water and trees and of course the birds!
ReplyDeleteThose are great, Eileen.
ReplyDeleteI just made it back to W.V. for a few days. I'm hoping our suet feeder gets us some nice woodpecker photo ops.

ReplyDeleteA very happy New Year to you. We have a great many Canadian and Brant geese who hunker down in the park nearby. They are lovely to watch....a bit messy though if you want to walk through the park.

What a great idea to close the Loch off to vehicles and so good that the weather played ball. You have ome lovely shots of the lake with all those wildfowl, not mention 4 or 5 eagles - I wish.

ReplyDeleteThese collages are so wonderful, great mix of pics.
Wow, check out those tall tall trees in the first collage. Majestic.
ReplyDeleteAll our Canada Geese have gone south. They don't go far, but they do leave our Coastal BC home. - Margy
ReplyDeleteit is always wonderful to go on virtual "walks" with you Eileen. I look forward to more in 2015. Happy New Year and thank you for stopping by my blog and your support over the past year.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year, Eileen!
ReplyDeleteYour last pic of the Canada Geese is absolutely breathtaking! I cannot get over how calm the water looks, rich, gel-like, even. The Greeks say 'The sea is pure oil', when it looks like this. The Canada Geese must be enjoying their swim, refreshed and ready for take off!
Have a lovely day, Eileen!
Poppy
It looks like a fantastic place to explore and walk around in. I'm betting that it also looks great there when everything greens up. Excellent photos Eileen!
ReplyDeleteI did enjoy your walk and the pictures! This area is so pretty. My sister lives in Bel Air and works in Havre De Grace. I will be visiting her in June.
ReplyDeleteCanada Goose is so common that we tend to overlook them, but it really is a stunningly beautiful bird as your pictures show.
ReplyDeleteIn the last image, the water is so still, it looks like glass. And the reflection of the geese is fabulous.
